  Alabama outlaws the leasing of convicts to mine coal, a practice that had been in place since 1848. In 1898, 73 percent of the state’s total revenue came from this source. Twenty-five percent of all Black leased convicts died on the job. ~ Labor Tribune

NLRB Doubles Down: Amazon is a Joint Employer

Oct. 2, 2024 | WORKERS’ RIGHTS | The National Labor Relations Board Region 31 (NLRB) issued a formal complaint against Amazon affirming that the company is a joint employer of its Delivery Service Partner (DSP) drivers and has a legal duty to recognize and bargain with the Teamsters Union.
